Safety

At Teichert Line Services, we never compromise on safety.
Key Components of Our High-Voltage Safety Culture
#1 Safety-First Mindset
Every project we undertake begins with a thorough risk assessment, followed by the development of detailed safety plans. Our workers are trained to prioritize safety over deadlines, making no compromises when it comes to reducing risk and protecting everyone on site. We also have a dedicated safety professional that regularly visits jobsites to ensure safety protocols are being followed and all employees are properly trained.
#2 Rigorous Training and Certification
Our teams undergo comprehensive training programs that cover electrical hazards, high-voltage safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response protocols. Continuous education ensures that every worker is up-to-date with the latest safety standards and best practices.
#3 Compliance with Industry Standards
We strictly adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and NFPA 70E standards, ensuring that all safety practices meet or exceed industry requirements. Our commitment to compliance helps maintain a safe working environment on every project.
#4 Advanced Safety Equipment
We invest in state-of-the-art safety equipment, including insulating tools, grounding assemblies, personal protective gear, and arc-flash protection. Regular equipment inspections ensure that all tools and devices are in optimal working condition.
#5 Live-Line Work Procedures
Working on energized high-voltage lines requires specialized training and equipment. Our certified crews use live-line procedures such as hot-sticking and rubber gloving to safely perform maintenance without interrupting power service, minimizing risks for both our workers and the public.
#6 Incident Reporting and Continuous Improvement
At Teichert Line Services, we foster a culture of transparency when it comes to incident reporting. Every good catch or near-miss incident is treated as an opportunity to learn and improve. We regularly review and update our safety protocols to ensure they are effective and aligned with industry advancements.
#7 Daily Safety Briefings
Before the start of each workday, we conduct safety briefings to review the specific hazards of the job site, go over emergency procedures, and reinforce the importance of working safely. These briefings ensure that everyone on the team is aligned and aware of the day's safety priorities.
#8 Empowering Workers to Stop Work
We empower every team member with the authority to stop work if they believe it poses a safety risk. This stop-work authority reinforces our commitment to safety and encourages employees to take an active role in identifying and mitigating hazards.

The "I Got Your Back" (IGYB) Safety System

At Teichert Line Services, our commitment to safety extends to fire prevention on job sites.
Our trucks are specially built to reduce fire risks, equipped with 300-gallon water tanks, high-performance pumps, and 200 feet of hose. This allows our crews to respond quickly to any potential fire hazards in the field.

These trucks are also designed with practicality and safety in mind. The extended hose length and built-in fire prevention features reduce the need for employees to frequently back up their vehicles, minimizing the chances of backing incidents.
By eliminating the need for a water buffalo (a separate fire suppression trailer) on site, we not only enhance fire prevention readiness but also reduce the risk of accidents associated with trailer maneuvering.

IGYB Trauma First Aid & CPR Kits are rack mounted in every Foreman's truck. These kits are stocked with vital supplies to handle serious injuries, enabling immediate first aid care for trauma situations such as bleeding, fractures, or burns until professional medical help arrives.
Additionally, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are included, making it possible for both trained and untrained responders to provide defibrillation and administer CPR in critical moments before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) can take over.
At Teichert Line Services, we go above and beyond industry standards to ensure the safety and preparedness of our employees.
